Simple Morning Routine
Do you find yourself hitting the snooze button over and over? Well, you’re not alone. I have been there more often than I would like to admit.
I was experiencing a never-ending cycle. I craved structure in the morning. I decided to create a morning routine with set activities to bring some order to my mornings.
I searched and searched for the perfect morning routine trying to find inspiration. I found myself carrying out other routines that were not possible for me to accomplish. I quickly became very overwhelmed and ended up right where I started.
I would often wake up with no plan and end up wasting time wishing I would have just stayed asleep. It became easier and easier to hit that snooze button.
Instead of trying to adapt my morning to what others may think is best, I started taking ideas from others and incorporating what fit best in my schedule. I encourage you to do the same.
A simple morning routine for me has made it possible for me to execute each morning. So, here is my short, sweet, and simple morning routine to help implant ideas for you to kick-start the creation of your morning routine.

Wake up 30 minutes early.
For me, this was the toughest part. I am not a morning person. Especially after having my son, I find myself needing a bit more sleep.
I realized after many failures, that a good bedtime was essential. This has led me to prioritize self-care and establish a bedtime routine to ensure I get enough rest each night.
After easing into this, I have found myself waking up with just enough time to accomplish everything before my son wakes up. This alone time in the mornings sets me off to a great start.
Eat a healthy breakfast.
This might be silly to some, but this is something that I tend to neglect. Waking up with my son, I find myself meeting his needs and forgetting my own.
Allotting this time into my morning routine allows me to make a breakfast that will fill me up and benefit me in a healthy way.
Spend time with Jesus.
This is my motivation to get out of bed in the mornings. This quality time with Jesus is what helps me be the best version of myself every day.
Having a personal relationship with Jesus is so important. He wants this more than anything. For a relationship to flourish, it requires quality time, communication, and effort.
Putting in the effort to carve out time to be with Jesus in prayer and studying his word will surely brighten your day. I encourage you to implement this into your routine. It will bring a smile to your face in the morning and help you live out the day with gratitude and thanksgiving.
Journal
To be completely honest this is something I do not do every morning, but when I do it, can tell a difference in my mood.
Throughout the day, I often find my mind filling up with intruding thoughts that impact my day in a negative way. Being able to jot down thoughts and feelings in the morning and giving them to God in prayer will allow you to feel more at peace as you go about your day.
I hope as you read this you feel encouraged to start brainstorming a morning routine so that you can start the day off well.
Your journey to a more productive morning is just starting. Creating a routine that fits you takes time and effort. Be patient and stay committed.
Keep your morning routine flexible and open to change. Your needs and preferences can shift over time.
